The CEO (Bengt Ove Bitnes Hagen) is Solberg & Hansen's data controller for the company's processing of personal data.

Personal data that is stored

We store the following information about our customers:

  1. Customer information
    Name, delivery address, telephone number and e-mail address.
    Registration of this information is a prerequisite for the purchase to be completed.

    When you visit the Solberg & Hansen website, your IP address may be registered. The information is processed in de-identified form, so that it cannot be linked to individuals. The purpose of this collection is to compile statistics that we use to develop and improve the information on the pages. The statistics are used to gain knowledge about the number of people who visit the various pages, how long the visit lasts, which website the user comes from, and which browser is used.   4. Sign-ups
    When registering for any events, only the name and contact details of the person registering are stored, and the purpose of the processing is to administer registration and participation. The data will be deleted after the event has ended.
  5. Surveys/data collection
    Solberg & Hansen occasionally conducts surveys and other data collection from our customers. Participation in such surveys is voluntary and is based on the consent of the person(s) participating. In order to be able to send out electronic enquiries to the right recipient, we need to store name and e-mail address. This information is deleted when the survey is completed and finalised.
  6. Newsletter
    You can subscribe to electronic newsletters from Solberg & Hansen. In order to be able to send emails to the right recipient, we need to save your name and email address. We store this information in a separate database. We do not share the information with others and delete it when you cancel your subscription. We only use the information to administer the distribution of newsletters. You must unsubscribe yourself, either via the website or a link in the newsletter, if you want to cancel your subscription. S&H does not collect personal data such as birth dates and social security numbers, or information about personal payment cards. 

Purpose of the processing

We process the data in order to fulfil our obligations under our agreement with you. We also use the data to provide you with information, offers and service in connection with your purchase via e-mail, telephone, SMS and mailings. We use purchase history and behavioural patterns on the website to provide recommendations and advertising that is tailored to each individual user.

The basis for the treatment 

Information about name, address, telephone, e-mail address is used to fulfil the purchase agreement. The basis for this processing is Article 6 (b) of the General Data Protection Regulation. Where you have consented to it, the information is also used to provide you with information, offers and service in connection with your purchase via e-mail, telephone and SMS. The basis for this processing is Article 6 (a) of the General Data Protection Regulation. You can opt out of receiving such information from us at any time.

Where you have given your consent, purchase history and behavioural patterns are used to provide recommendations and advertising specifically tailored to you as a user. The basis for this processing is the General Data Protection Regulation Art 6 (a). You can withdraw your consent to such use at any time.

Who gets access to your personal data? 

We will not share, sell, transfer or otherwise disclose personal data to others, unless we are legally obliged to do so or it is necessary to provide information to our business partners. Of our business partners, the shipping company and Nets payment services currently receive such information. 

Deletion of personal data

Solberg & Hansen deletes personal data in accordance with the applicable rules. Information we have received in connection with your purchase is stored in our active customer register for 3.5 years. Information we are obliged to retain under the Bookkeeping Act will be stored for up to 5 years, in accordance with legal requirements.

Rights of the data subject 

We process your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Act and applicable regulations. Please note that you can demand access to and transfer of your own personal data, as well as demand correction or deletion of information.

Complaints can be made to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority about processing in violation of the rules.
