From the quality-conscious coffee farmer Virgelina Suarez in Tolima, Colombia, we are launching three coffee batches with three different bean varieties.

All types of beans are grown on the same coffee farm, with the same growing conditions, but in the cup you'll experience three different coffees with distinctive flavours.

The coffees are all grown by quality-conscious coffee farmer Virgelina Suarez at her farm El Triunfo in Planadas, Colombia. Three coffee batches with three different bean varieties. All with similar growing conditions and processing, but with distinctive flavour notes.

Taste the coffees against each other and experience the different nuances of each bean type.

Maracaturra: Juicy with flavours of melon and plum. A well-known hybrid of maragogype and caturra, with large beans and a light, fruity flavour.

Colombia: Sweet with flavours of dark chocolate and dark, ripe berries. The bean is a catimor-like hybrid known for its balanced, sweet flavours.

F8: Luscious with flavours of chocolate and citrus notes. F8 is a rare, local relative of colombia, with high quality in the cup.

Quality, family and craftsmanship

Virgelina Suarez is a dedicated coffee farmer from Tolima who, together with her husband Luis Hernando Morales and the rest of the family, runs the El Triunfo farm at 1620 metres above sea level. The farm comprises nine hectares in total, four of which are dedicated to coffee cultivation. Virgelina is also part of ACEDGA, Asociación de Caficultores Especiales Diferenciados de Gaitania, a farm group that brings together coffee producers to strengthen quality, market access and sustainable practices in the region.

At El Triunfo, tradition and precision are combined at every stage of production: the berries first undergo 12 hours of pulp fermentation before being pulped, followed by 24 hours of dry fermentation without water. The coffee is then dried for a full 24 days, resulting in a good and consistent quality. This meticulous process, combined with the family's close co-operation and commitment, makes Virgelina's coffees a strong expression of both place and craftsmanship in Tolima's coffee world.

Planadas - a unique coffee neighbourhood in Tolima

Planadas is located in southern Tolima in Colombia, a region that has emerged as an important and exciting area for speciality coffee. Surrounded by the lush landscape of the Andes, the high, cool hills provide the coffee plants with ideal conditions with large temperature differences between day and night. In addition to rich access to water and nutrient-rich, volcanic soil.

Planadas has gone from being a relatively unknown area to being recognised for its coffee, thanks in part to the quality and complexity that comes from the high growing areas and sustainable production initiatives. Coffees from Planadas are known for their clean flavour, balance and potential to express distinct regional characteristics in the cup.
