Here's how to do it:
Large brewer - 185
26 grams of coffee - 400 grams of water
Grind: slightly finer than filter ground
- Start timer, pour in about 70 g of water.
- Let the coffee swell for 30 seconds.
- Slowly pour up to 200 g of water.
- Allow the water to sink almost completely.
- Pour up to 300 g at approx. 1:30, let the water sink again.
- Pour up to 400 g at approx. 2:30
Total brewing time: 3:30 - 4:00
Small brewer - 155
13 grams of coffee - 200 grams of water
Degree of grind: between filter and mocha pot.
- Start timer, pour in about 40 g of water.
- Let the coffee swell for 30 seconds.
- Slowly pour in the rest of the water. Stretch the pouring out until 1.5 minutes have passed.
- Let the water sink through the coffee.
Total brewing time: 2:30
Simple brewing method:
You can also brew by hand without a scale and timer. With a small brewer, you halve the amount of water and coffee.
Then you need:
- Large Kalita brewer (½ liter)
- Kalita paper filter & filter holder
- 3o grams of filter ground coffee
Here's how to do it:
- Boil ½ liter of water.
- Place a filter in the filter holder. Fill with coffee.
- Pour water over the coffee so that all the coffee in the filter is moistened. Wait until it stops swelling (about 30 seconds) before adding more water.
- Pour the water in regular circular motions so that you get water evenly over the coffee grounds in the filter. When the filter holder is full of water, pause until there is room to continue pouring.
- Let all the water drain through. It should take about 3 minutes to brew a pot.
